I've never been much of a hat wearer, more of a cap person. Lately I've found myself needing the 'top of ear' and bald spot protection from the UV-laced Tassie sun. The sort of protection old fellas at the bowls club need.
And so I've relented and bought a 'proper' hat. Now it's not one of those broad-brimmed eminently sensible beachy straw surfy things. That'd be just too sensible. I'd like to think I fall into an inner-city hipster Madness baggy trousers type of vibe - a mid-life crisis if you will. So my new hat is a blue felt number, with a modicum of shade under it's brim. it certainly wasn't cheap - the 'get a free cap with any Makita drill purchase' type of cheap. One of my friends suggested it "looked like the type of hat I chose myself", which I took to mean she didn't really approve.
So what's that got to do with photography I hear you say? Not much obviously, other the fact it gets in the way when you are trying to take a photograph, and is itself hard to take a decent photograph of ... or is it the wearer?
This blogging thing makes me say all sorts of stupid things ....
